We have somewhat nervously been anticipating this time for some months now – our first commercial sized garlic harvest on Snug Farm. Nervously I say because it is really different from anything we have done before to earn a living. A whole year’s income relies on what comes out of the ground now!
A sneak peek this week has been promising and I think my confidence is growing that our first crop will produce some quality garlic. The Monaro Purple is looking really good, as is the Australian White. Harvest will begin in a week or so depending on the weather (of course the rain we have been longing for comes now!) and our garlic after it cures for a couple of weeks will be ready for sale.
Garlic will be available braided (great for gifts) or as separate bulbs.
