We are very excited to now be able to offer our Snug Farm Black Garlic for sale, made from our award winning Dunganski garlic.
Black Garlic, also known as fermented garlic, is fresh raw garlic that has been altered over time with low heat and humidity causing a process called the Maillard reaction.
The cloves of the garlic becomes black, soft and a bit sticky and it develops a remarkable Umami taste; a bit sweet, earthy and a little sour. Our favourite is to serve it with cheese & red wine…… but it also goes brilliantly on top of a pizza or in a salad.
Black Garlic, as well as being absolutely delicious is great for your health! It is said be rich in amino acids, phytonutrients. allicin and antioxidents.
